Question: What is the Bible definition of the word "change"?

Answer: My understanding of this is that in all of church history, as a previously neglected truth is brought forth and emphasized in what becomes a "movement," it becomes necessary to accept this truth. and then incorporate it into one's own beliefs. Through history, there have been among protestant, the Reformation movement, followed by the Anabaptist movement. The reformation came first, but the anabaptists brought out some new truths in addition to the Reformation truths. The sad fact was that the Reformers persecuted the Anabaptists. So it seems with the new moves of the Spirit - the group who were part of the previous move of the Spirit, persecute the new movements.

In more recent times, many of those those who were of the Holiness movement persecuted, or rejected the truths brought out in the Pentecostal movement. Then there were the Latter Rain movement, the Healing movement, the Charismatic movement, the Faith movement, and so on. People who were on the cutting edge of one movement would refuse to "change" to accept the movement that came later in time. Consequently, they would either reject, or criticise the movement that followed them, instead of keeping an open heart toward new Biblical truths that had not previously been understood or appropriated by the general body of believers.

Those who press for the need for "change," believe that God is again doing, or going to do a new thing, and that the believers who want to be on the cutting edge of what God is doing today, or is soon about to do, must keep their hearts open to whatever changes they need to make, in order to be able to participate in the latest move of the Spirit.
