Question: Just curious about something.... I notice more often bumper stickers that say "Fear God". My question is, why? How can you love someone you fear? How can you fear someone you love? Why should you fear someone that loves you?Answer: It is very encouraging to know that you are not only reading, but "listening" to the messages involved in this ministry.
To answer your question regarding the bumper stickers about "fearing" God; this "fear" referred to in this context is not as we think of fear. The Bible "fear" always means respect. So when you see these and other references to this, just put "respect" in the place of fear. You must remember when reading the Bible that the words and phrases used there are not always our current meaning. It is a good idea to have a good concordance and Bible dictionary on hand when studying the Bible.
