Lesson 33 - What About Holiness? Part 2 (Cont'd.)

Should preachers just be concerned with bringing people to
the Lord and then "Let the Holy Spirit teach them right from
wrong?" Or should he himself, teach them how to live holy
lives? Is "love" the most important matter to teach? (Cont'd.)

Many years ago on a street corner in a large city in Texas, there
were a number of young people dressed in shorts and otherwise
immodestly dressed, conducting a Gospel street service. When
asked by a minister friend of mine, why they as Christians, would
dress like that, he was told, "We dress like the people so we can
win them to the Lord." Please follow their logic by answering the
following questions: 

 1. Do we take drugs to win drug addicts? 
 2. Do we drink with the drunkards to win them to Christ? 
 3. Do we use curse words to witness to those who use
   profanity? 
 4. Do we steal to identify with the robbers to win them? 
 5. Do we draw lewd pictures to present Christ to artists? 
 6. Do we use carnal music to gain a hearing? 
 7. As a man, do you wear an earring to identify with the
    homosexual to win him? 

What a reproach and what contradictions for "Christians" to do these
things! Is this why we hear the expression, "The church is in a
mess"? 

Let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably
		 with reverence 
		 and godly fear, 
	  For our God is a consuming fire" 
		(Hebrews 12:28, 19).

"Please tell me more."
