Ask a Minister

~ A place to find answers to gnawing spiritual questions ~

Question: What did it mean when a king would point his scepter?

Answer:

When a king pointed his scepter, it meant that the person's request was granted or that he/she was allowed to enter the king's presence. This happened when Queen Esther, in the book of Esther, went to see King Ahasuerus. It represents what Paul said in the New Testament: "Let us come boldly to the throne of grace to find help in time of need."
