Question: What about our children that think they are saved and they don't act like it? Like living with a boyfriend/girlfriend, Hanging out with non-Christians, not regularly attending church, occasionally drinking or smoking pot with friends, and other things.Answer:
It is the responsibility of the parents to teach children. If they have been taught The Word of God, and had it lived in front of them as an example; then it is time to remind them of what the Bible says about the way we live, and let them know they will have to answer to God some day and not to Mom and Dad.
The Bible says that if any man (woman) be in Christ he is a new creature, old things pass away and all things become new. (2 Corinthians. 5:17). This is, of course, saying that we act and live differently than we did when we were unsaved. Ask them to go right on over to 2 Corinthians. 6:14-18.
We are to be Christ's representatives on earth. We are to be modeled after Him. Can your children picture Christ in the situations in which they find themselves? It is time to stand up and be counted for Him. He is coming very soon for a bride that is spotless. Can they believe they are ready for this blessed event? Each of us must answer for ourselves.
I know as a parent, it is very difficult to see children "drifting" in a Christian walk. So encourage them to get a new start with the Lord.
May the Lord richly bless you and your family. I will be praying for and with you.
